As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will work in a fast-paced environment and be involved in every stage, concept to production, of the complex system, so you can really make an impact on the product. The firmware is cross-compatible with multiple processor architectures e.g. ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V and this forms a key part of the challenge of delivering real-time embedded control solutions. Not for the faint hearted but very satisfying work.

About you

You are a capable and ambitious Firmware Engineer, who is looking to join a world-class electronics, control and firmware engineering team and really make your mark on their products, IP and technology.

You are passionate about software and technology and able to play a significant role in a highly skilled team, designing and developing new product and finding efficient ways to solve problems.

Your role

To work within a team of mechanical, control, electronics and firmware engineers to build on the IP and technology that ensures the companies solutions remain the most advanced in the world.

Specify, develop and evaluate embedded firmware solutions to drive their technology forward, and support transfer of these into high volume production.

Develop and improve the methods and procedures to enhance our ability to deliver successful products.

Interface with partners and customers to understand their requirements and deliver the assistance that they need to use our products.

Your skills and experience

BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or other relevant degree course

5+ years’ industrial experience within an R & D environment, involving embedded programming of, ideally, 32-bit microcontrollers

3+ years’ C / C++ development experience

Designing to requirement specifications

Nice to have

Python
Digital signal processing (DSP)
Board-level debug and test
